Yung Europe is a platform for millennials to share their thoughts on social, political and philosophical issues they think are important.
What is a millennial? The oxford dictionary defines millennial as ‘A person reaching young adulthood in the early 21st century.’ However, no one cares about the oxford dictionary, especially not millennials. Also starting a story with an oxford dictionary definition is not millennial. Or is it? Millennials are defined both by non-millennials and millennials alike. While I often feel spoken to when articles mention millennials, just as many times I don’t. Millennials are the target of generalizaions. They are accused of the most random things. However, there are also millennials and non-millennials who are speaking up for millennials. Generalizations are bad. But this platform is going to do it anyway lol.
Okay so what is this whole yung-europe thing all about? It is about changing the world. Its about giving a voice to those who own a computer and can write in English and want to say something or argue something but not on social media but on a platform for content and when they publish your content you can share it on social media anyway because it makes you more legit as a writer or a person with an opinion. We are a content sharing and creating platforms for millennials, by millennials. We are focussed on bringing the general millennial view on public affairs to a wider audience. Our goal is to be quoted as if we are representing all millennials in Europe. That would be sweet. Most of all though, we want to give people the chance to write about their perspective on current affairs in the wider Europe region. We know that writing an article is just for yourself is cool and all, but you’re never going to do it anyway. We got yu.
Yung Europe is at the same time serious and not serious. We want to post-clichés, then debunk those clichés and then make new clichés. We want you. We want the truth. We want lies. We want it all. We want the whole picture and we want the details. We want to be fresh and we want to be rotten. We want to add at least five new prefixes to the word ‘postmodernism’ while at the same time we don’t. We want to be a movement against those who take life too seriously as well as those who don’t take it serious enough. Actually, we don’t know what we want. But that’s okay because no one really does.
We invite people to write in the language they think best fits their article as we want to be a truly European platform. We invite people to write about topics of societal relevance. We invite people to write about Europe because you’re Europe.
